MEASURE YOUR FEET

1. Download the A4 Bont Cycling Tracing Grid and print with zero scaling. Check the dimensions and you’re good to start the tracing process.

2. Take your shoes and socks off and stand with your left foot directly on the page. Keep your foot as close to the left and bottom edges as possible unless your foot is too large to fit on the paper. If so, place your foot diagonally across the page as shown in the image below.

3. Take a thin black pen and hold it in a vertical position. Begin to trace around the entirety of the foot while ensuring you do not make the tracing smaller or larger than your foot length and width. You should be standing upright position on both legs with load weighted onto the forefoot (front of foot). This step is best performed with an assistance or helper but it can be done yourself if required.

4. Remove your foot and repeat the tracing with your right foot.

5. Take a ruler or accurate tape measure and note the length and width of both feet. Mark the longest and widest point of each foot at all four side and draw a straight line across each section to demonstrate where the measurement is taken. Write length and width of both feet in the area allocated.

6. Now have a look at the following chart and proceed as instructed below:

*IMPORTANT!

We recommend 5-9mm extra on top of your foot length range for a little more space in front. Further explanation below.

Are your feet 281-285mm long? Then you probably need size 46 with a 290mm insole.

*IMPORTANT!

We recommend 5-9mm extra on top of your foot length range for a little more space in front. Further explanation below.

Advice: take the insoles of your current cycling shoes and measure the exact length. Are they 275mm long? Then you most probably need a Bont size 44.

MATCH YOUR LENGTH WITH THE PROPER SIZE AND WIDTH

Once the measurements have been taken, first use the horizontal MM scale on the size chart to find your size (length). The MM sizes on the chart are the exact length of the last that we use to build the shoes. If you find that your MM size is exactly the same as a value on the size chart, you may want to select one size bigger to give your toes some room. For example, you measure your feet and the length of your left and right feet are 278mm and 280mm respectively. If you were browsing for a Helix, Riot+ Series, Vaypor S or other model from the top line size chart you would be exactly size 44.5. However, as stated, this is the exact length of the shoe last and unless you like your shoes to be very tight, you may wish to add an additional 5-8mm onto your measurements to account for toe room and sock thickness. This will result in the most appropriate size. In this case you wold select a size 45.

Following selection of size (length), move downward to select the most appropriate width. We recommend adding 1mm to find the most appropriate width. For example, you are looking at a Vaypor S and have determined your best shoe size is 45 – accounting for the additional length added to your foot measurements. Your widths are 105mm and 107mm respectively and so, with an additional 1mm added, you would still fit within the Standard Fit. If your feet measured narrowed than 100mm or wider than 110mm, you would consider Narrow Fit or Wide Fit.

Hopefully you are now able to proceed your order.
